REGISTRATION
Absolutely! ?If you want to join with friends but don?t have enough players for a full team simply use the Small Group Registration option. Here’s how it works:
- You’ll need to register using the small group registration and create a name for your group.
- Ask your friends to register using the small group registration, and select your group name.
- You’re all set! ?We’ll be sure to place you all on the same team.
Yes (for most sports)! Your registration fee includes a new C’ville Social team shirt each season! That shirt serves as your jersey, and make sure to wear it each game!
Once you register your team for the next season, you can easily “copy” over the rosters from previous seasons. From the My Dashboard page, click “Manage or add players” link next to the team you’re adding player to, then click the orange “Copy Players” button at the top. From the drop-down, select the team to copy from, select the players to copy, then click “invite”. This will populate the invite section at the bottom of the page–hit “start” to initiate the invitation process.
To remove a player from your team, the captain should email sports@cvillesocial.com with the team name and the player to be removed.
Unfortunately, there is no way in the system to change the split number. Please contact ASAP at info@cvillesocial.com or 434-825-9804
Individual player team assignments are usually announced about 5-10 days before the start of a season. You will receive an email within a weekafter registration closeswith your team information, game schedule, and field locations. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@cvillesocial.com. Your team will need to agree on a Team Name and Shirt Color so start thinking now!
Click on the Sport registration, register?as an Individual?Player, submit payment and C’ville Social?will place you on a team of other individuals or an existing team.
Each guest / substitute player must complete the Guest Player Waiver registration before they participate in any game.
We try very hard to place all free agents / small groups. We go in order of registration, and only place players that have paid in full. If we are unable to place you, we will offer you options for other leagues or a full refund!
Participants play with C’ville Social at their own risk. Athletics can be inherently dangerous. We do not provide health insurance to any players and do not refund players? fees if they are injured ? nor are refunds given if you move, schedule changes, don?t like your team, etc?sorry! Players assume all risk when they register!
If a team captain chooses to split the team fee among players, the players have up until the league start date to make payment. Any fees owed 1 week after the league start date will be re-assigned to the captain and he/she will be responsible for paying the outstanding amount owed in full, otherwise any remaining team balances will be charged to the captain’s card. Any outstanding fees that still remain after two (2) weeks from the league start date will result in upcoming game forfeits until the team balance is paid.
Most sports offer C’ville Social players a team shirt that’s included with their registration each season! This shirt must be worn each week as your uniform in order to play. The shirts will be distributed at the league kickoff party, or available for pickup at an announced pickup location each season.
TEAM
Absolutely not. This rule is in place to keep the league fair. A player may sub for another team ONLY if they are short players, otherwise that player will be suspended for up to 2 games for playing with another team. Any player caught listed on 2 rosters will not be eligible to participate in ANY playoffs for that season. A Sunday Morning league and Sunday Night league are considered two different leagues.
Team captains need to invite each player to join their roster; from the My Dashboard page click “Add or manage players” next to your team name, and then click “Invite Players” from the “Invite” drop-down. Then enter your players’ email addresses.
Each player will then need to accept the invite and register themselves onto the team.

If your team finishes with a winning record (4-3-1 or equivalent)?or better at the end of the season, C’ville Social reserves the right to move your team up to a higher division the following season (regardless if your team make the playoffs) in order to keep competition even and the league fair.
If your team finishes with a losing record?(3-4-1)?or worse at the end of the season, C’ville Social reserves the right to move your team down to a lower division the following season in order to keep competition even and the league fair.

GAME
If a game is cancelled due to inclement weather, all efforts will be made to reschedule for a future date on the same league day. However make-up games may be rescheduled on a different league day to keep the season on schedule.
The captains must log into their account and select My Dashboard. From their Dashboard, click on the Team Name then click on the Report Score button to enter the game score. Please enter both team scores, then click Submit. It’s a very easy process, so please enter the game score within 3 days after the game date. If the score was entered by the other captain first, and you believe it to be incorrect, please email us at gamescore@cvillesocial.com.
If you can’t field a team, you’ll need to email forfeit@cvillesocial.com at least 8 hours before your scheduled game to avoid paying the forfeit fee.
If you would like to request a reschedule, send us an email to sports@cvillesocial.com at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled game. Otherwise, we will not be able to pursue a reschedule for you. Your opponent must agree to the reschedule, otherwise the game will be a forfeit.

POLICIES
As a member of the C’ville Social community, we expect the following from each other:
- Respect the Game. We celebrate competition, but we are a recreational league, and fun is the most important thing. Treat the game and the officials with respect at all times.
- Respect the Officials. We work hard to recruit the best refs we can; to err is human, right? We may disagree with calls, but we treat referees as fellow humans and show respect and courtesy. Dissent is not tolerated.
- Respect the Opponent. It’s just a game! Don’t taunt, mock, bait or otherwise put down your opponent. Foul, abusive, or racially-motivated language has no place in our league.
- Respect Yourself. Be the teammate you want to have; integrity is an expectation. Treat everyone at the field as you would a friend or colleague — we share the same goal of sports, fun, and community!

The League has the authority to suspend and/or expel a player or team from the league and/or future game(s) at its discretion with no refund of monies for such acts. All C’ville Social leagues adhere to City of Charlottesville/Albemarle County policy regarding severe weather (thunder, lightning) which all players, coaches, managers, and referees are responsible for implementing. It is a requirement that if any individual involved with the League–including non-playing spectators–sees lightning or hears thunder, they must bring it to the referee’s attention immediately. EVERYONE shares in this responsibility. When a member of the referee crew sees lightning or hears thunder, or is alerted to such by a player, coach, manager, or spectator, the referee will immediately suspend play for 30 minutes. Everyone MUST clear the field and retreat to the parking lot. Anyone who remains on the field after the referee has ordered everyone off the field acknowledges that they do so at their own risk and that neither the League nor the referee crew assigned to the match can be held responsible or any injuries occurring as long as play is suspended. At no time may an individual ask the referee to ignore the lightning or thunder or insist that play be allowed to continue. The referee will wait 30 minutes from the last flash of lightning or peal of thunder. Each time lightning re-appears or thunder is heard, the referee MUST re-start the 30 minute clock. There are NO exceptions to this waiting period. Once 30 minute pass with no additional thunder or lightning, the referee will resume play with the appropriate re-start from when play was suspended. Because the League must operate within the constraints of field permits, the referee has the authority to shorten the halves of the game to try and complete the game or to cancel the match in its entirety.
WEATHER
If a game is cancelled due to inclement weather, all efforts will be made to reschedule for a future date on the same league day. However make-up games may be rescheduled on a different league day to keep the season on schedule.
